Pranayama & Breathwork Retreat in Rishikesh
Learn authentic pranayama and breathwork techniques from expert teachers to calm your mind, boost your energy and improve your overall health.
A Pranayama Retreat in Rishikesh
Seven days to steady your breath and, through it, steady your mind.
Yoga and pranayama together are a complete path to health. This Yoga & Pranayama Retreat gives good physical health, a balanced mind and real spiritual growth. Yoga is the base of all yogic practices, and pranayama is the spine of every yogic subject — this retreat puts pranayama first, supported by yoga.
Breathing exercises alone aren't pranayama. On this retreat you learn pranayama the traditional way, step by step: different breathing forms, the bandhas (locks) and mudras (gestures) for different purposes, with all the precautions needed for safe practice. The goal is to correct your breathing pattern and raise your energy level.
Pranayama Retreat — Quick Facts

“Learning the science of breath, one inhale at a time”

Your Breath Is Your Most Powerful Tool
Pranayama means controlling your life-force through breath — and unlike most yoga techniques, its effects are immediate: a single round of alternate-nostril breathing can measurably calm your nervous system in minutes.
Over seven days you move from basic breath awareness to advanced techniques, taught safely and one step at a time.

Core techniques you'll practice, safely and step by step:
Kapalbhati
The skull-shining breath — energizing and cleansing.
Nadi Shodhana
Alternate nostril breathing, for immediate calm.
Bhastrika
The bellows breath, for building internal heat and energy.
Ujjayi
The ocean breath, used to steady focus during asana.
Bhramari
The humming bee breath, for calming the mind quickly.
Bandhas & Mudras
Energy locks and seals that direct and contain your practice.
Each technique serves a different purpose — some calm, some energize, some build heat — so by the end of the retreat you have a genuine toolkit, not just one trick.
“Change your breath and you change your state — every single time.”

Beyond that, we ask that you: be in good physical health, keep an open mind, commit to full attendance, follow a vegetarian diet during the course, avoid alcohol, drugs and smoking, have basic English proficiency, be between 18–60 years old, have had no surgery in the last year, and not bring children along.
Two clear color photocopies of your passport (plus the original for verification), two passport-size photos, and your visa expiry details.
Yes, an Indian Tourist e-Visa is mandatory for foreign nationals. It's also a good idea to arrange travel and health insurance before you depart.
We recommend arriving a day early. You'll check in, rest, then complete your registration form and pay any remaining balance, followed by a short tour of the yoga hall and dining area.
The day begins with a morning Hatha class (8–9 AM) and breakfast, followed by a traditional fire ceremony at 10:30 AM, a group photo and your study materials. At 3 PM there's an orientation covering teachers, syllabus, rules and goals for the retreat.
Two passport-size photos, your phone and charger, a debit card, seasonal and comfortable yoga clothing, comfortable shoes, a travel towel, and a small first-aid kit with any personal medicines. Leave expensive jewelry at home — the school isn't responsible for lost valuables.
